Seb’s our new Trainee QS!

We’re delighted that Seb Wallhead has joined the Urban team as our new Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

Before starting work with us in October, Seb racked up plenty of valuable real-world experience. While studying Business Finance at college, he worked part-time at a local pub. As he says, “It helped me to become finance savvy and develop crucial teamwork and communication skills.”

As our Trainee QS, Seb is kept very busy. During a typical day, he’s pricing jobs, calculating quantities from drawings, preparing quantity bills and working closely with contractors. It can be challenging, especially when it comes to understanding the detail that is in a drawing. But he’s doing an excellent job, unfailingly keeping up to date with all jobs that are running at any given time.

Seb loves to visit jobsites to see how projects are developing and has a real hunger for developing new skills, particularly in project management and client engagement.

We asked the high-flyer what he most enjoyed about working for Urban. His response? “I enjoy the hands-on learning opportunities at Urban, where I can apply my academic knowledge to real-world projects while gaining valuable experience in cost management. It’s great to be part of a supportive team that helps me develop my technical skills and professional growth.”
